8 DAY / 7 NIGHT: KENYA ROYAL SAFARI

This combination of drive and fly safari follows a classic route through 4 of Kenya’s finest game reserves. A combination of first-class accommodation in lodges and luxury-tented camps will bring you close to the diversity that Kenya has to offer.  The safari features a world-famous tree hotel - The Ark overlooking a watering hole located in Abardares National Park, the panoramic semi-desert of Samburu, the Mount Kenya region and the rolling plains of the Maasai Mara.

Day 1: Tuesday: Arrive Nairobi

Your safari adventure begins with a warm welcome by To Africa tours and Safaris Representative and the transfer to the luxurious Norfolk hotel. With its rich history and British colonial charm, your will realize why it is considered one of the “Leading Hotels of the World”. The afternoon you may opt for excursion to Karen Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Center where you have an opportunity of hand feeding the Rothschild Giraffes. Accommodation: Norfolk Hotel

Day 2: Wednesday: Sweetwater's/ Ol Pajeta Conservancy                  

This morning we depart Nairobi and proceed north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates to Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Sweetwater’s is located in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. We visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens!

Sweetwater’s offer excellent game viewing, the camp has its own private waterhole and salt lick so guests are guaranteed unprecedented close encounters with wildlife. Day 3 & 4: Thur & Fri: Samburu Game Reserve

After breakfast and return to Aberdares Country Club, pick up your excess luggage and continue your safari adventure into the semi-arid land and rugged landscape of Samburu Game Reserve; home to Samburu people. Your luxury accommodation is situated on the banks of Uaso Nyiro River. Morning and afternoon game drives enable you to see wildlife unique to this area of Kenya such as Reticulated Giraffe, Grey’s zebra, warthog, gerenuk, oryx, blue legged Somali ostrich; and if you are lucky the elusive leopard. Day 5: Saturday: Mount Kenya Safari Club
After breakfast drive to the  slopes of Mount Kenya arriving in time for lunch. Rest of the afternoon is at leisure 
to enjoy the clubs various  facilities. Dinner and overnight at the Mount Kenya Safari Club. (BLD)

Day 6 & 7: Sun & Mon:Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, transfer to Nanyuki Air Strip where you will say “kwaheri” (goodbye) to your driver/guide and board a light aircraft for your flight to Masai Mara National Reserve, an extension of the great Serengeti Plain (please note that the baggage allowance on the light aircraft is 33 pounds, any excess luggage should be left with the driver/guide for storage in Nairobi). On arrival you will be met by the camp’s representative and transferred to the camp. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Mara Safari Club is in a secluded part of the Mara Plains and is one of the most luxurious tented camps in Masai Mara. For the next two days, awaken to the sounds of birds in these endless rolling plains dotted with acacia trees, the scheduled morning and afternoon game drives provides you with an excellent opportunity to photograph the abundant wildlife in this seemingly limitless game reserve. On day 7, you may opt to enjoy an early morning hot air balloon safari (extra cost) which give you a bird's eye view of the Mara plains and the winding Mara and Talek rivers before landing to a magnificent champagne breakfast (B) Accommodation: Mara Safari Club Luxury Tented Camp

Day 8:  Tuesday:Depart Nairobi

Breakfast at leisure as you prepare to bid Masai Mara goodbye. (B)
