This safari in South Africa provides you with one of the most rewarding all-encompassing bush experiences available. The diversity of game viewing possibilities as well as luxurious award-winning accommodations in addition to a four night stay in Cape Town to explore one of the most coveted cities in the world and the famous winelands.  The most important aspect of this safari is both Madikwe and Lalibela Game Reserves are Malaria free, thus you will not have to worry about malaria precautions for you and your children.

Day 1 -4: Cape Town
To Africa Tours & Safaris representative will meet and transfer from Cape Town Airport to your hotel, The Twelve Apostles. With Twelve Apostles mountain range as a backdrop, 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa stands at the very edge of the Atlantic seaboard surrounded by acres of marine coastal nature reserves. Enjoying one of the world’s most beautiful settings, it is just 12 minutes from the center of Cape Town. Amenities such as welcome beverages, satellite television, movies on demand, electronic safe, the highest quality linens, bathrobes and slippers, combined with friendly, personal service, create the perfect retreat.

Your stay includes visits to the must see of Cape Town: the historic Malay quarter, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where two oceans meet, Camps Bay and Clifton beaches on the Atlantic coast, and the great Aquarium, museums, craft markets and shopping malls on the Waterfront. Weather permitting, you may even take the exciting cable car ascent up Table Mountain for a view of the oceans, the Mother City and the mountains all captured in one breathtaking panorama. In the evenings you are encouraged to enjoy the many gourmet restaurants and the lively nightlife on offer in Cape Town. (B)
The Twelve Apostles

Day 5 -7: Port Elizabeth – Lalibela Game Reserve (malaria Free)
Fly to Port Elizabeth this morning. On arrival you are met by To Africa Tours & Safaris representative who will transfer to your accommodation for the next 3 nights, Mark’s Camp. This lodge sleeps up to 20 guests in four individual chalets and three family chalets.  Each comfortably furnished with en-suite bathroom.  The camp has an outdoor dining “boma” for fireside dinners and open-air brunches, as well as a gracious indoor dining area.

On arrival at the camp you are given the opportunity to settle into your rooms; time allowing you will go for a late afternoon game drive in the open vehicle accompanied by a very experienced field guide and guests could experience the abundance of animals in the Southern African bush. Upon return to the lodge, freshen up before enjoying dinner.

Your day at Lalibela starts with coffee followed by an early morning game drive. Game drives in an open vehicle with an experienced game ranger bring you face to face with a multitude of game species, ranging from mighty elephant, lion, rhino and buffalo to tiny blue duiker and rock hyrax.  After morning game drive return to the Camp for lunch and a break in which to relax over the mid day hours before the late afternoon game drive, followed by dinner. Between game drives, you can relax in the large lounge, bird watch from the viewing decks or laze around the swimming pool.

Children’s Program (under 8 years)
In the early morning Lalibela’s baby/children sitters stay with the children when parents leave for the morning game drive. The children are given a chance to wake up, get dressed and be ready for the day.  Parents are welcome to stay behind and accompany their children on the kiddie’s game drive.

Breakfast is served and then it is time for the activities of the morning starting with a short game drive with their own game ranger and in their own special game viewing vehicle, taking care to avoid any close encounters with the dangerous game.

In the middle of the day; its time for the family to spend together and before the parents go out on their afternoon game drive, high tea is served for both adults and children.

After heading out on their afternoon game drive, the children return to the lodge for an early dinner before getting creative with some arts and crafts activities.
Lalibela Marks Camp (B, L, D)

Day 8 -10: Madikwe game reserve - malaria-free
On arrival at Johannesburg international airport you’ll be welcomed by To Africa Tours & Safaris representative who will assist you to the departure terminal for your charter flight to Madikwe private game reserve. Madikwe is malaria free, which makes it a very attractive safari destination and especially for children.

Your accommodation for the 3 nights is at Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge, situated in the heart of the Game Reserve. The lodge overlooks the 75 000 hectare reserve, and it offers some of Southern Africa’s best Big 5 and wild dog viewing.

On arrival at the airstrip, you will be met and transferred to the lodge. A late afternoon game drive is in open vehicle. After the game drive return to the lodge, freshen-up before enjoying dinner. At Madikwe Hills, the hosts will strife to exceed your expectations is with truly superior cuisines. The personalized gourmet experience, which includes dining under African stars in the rustic boma, as well as on the beautifully appointed deck overlooking the Reserve, reinforces the feeling of absolute luxurious hospitality. To enhance your dinning experience, there is an extensive wine cellar allowing you to select your favorite South African wines to compliment the multi course meals.

The Lodge’s 11 luxuriously decorated glass fronted suites each have their own verandah and plunge pool, offering absolute privacy and majestic views of the Reserve. Other touches that add to the experience are outside showers, fireplaces, under floor heating and air conditioning, as well as concertina glass doors that open the room up entirely - allowing one to truly feel at one with the environment.

The wellness centre, which offers the utmost in relaxing and rejuvenating treatments, as well as a fully equipped gym, are tucked away in the lush setting behind the main lodge. For those after more literary pursuits, there is a small library offering a wide range of interesting and diverse reading matter

Your  typical day at Madikwe Hills will begin with  the camp staff knocking softly on your door announcing the arrival of your morning tea and coffee with a snack before an early morning game drive, followed by breakfast, lunch, tea, a game walk and a further sunset game drive before dinner in the outdoor boma.
